Drive
06:34
|
|||
What drives inside lie on the out
Ripping apart everything at the seams
As if without a doubt a dream holds deep reality
Passion bending distant realms that bring you to your knees
Perpetuating the very things that substantiate your needs
Driven by design
Driven by desire
Hidden beneath the veil they draw the arms so callously
The meaning lost in our exchange, words failing now
As we strive to maintain our ascension
How the tables turn when the purpose loses face
Their driven gaze, so blinding now
Sets the midnight race
Rising now beyond contrition
Killing now our vices loved
Rising from the remnants missing
We’ll become what we’ve envisioned
Rising from the dust now, driven with the purpose
The end will surely come!
Come inside, buy us all a round
There’s conversation to be found
I’d rather die than to give you my soul hand wrought
Fall to a void of your social control construct
Mirrored with purpose, a means to an end
Is not out of reach if we drive

Ultimatum
06:51
|
|||
I woke in the morning with those thoughts on my plate
And it led me into a world of solitude
My ideas seemed foreign
With a side of hesitation and perhaps fear
With the way things are going now it shouldn’t take long
For my mind to catch up with my attitude
As I struggled to answer if one could live without
The regrets of the common man
Close your mouths now,
You’ve got nothing that’s worth saying!
And from now on numbers stand as names!
I’ve got little patience for those who act out of line,
Do as you’re told and you may just stay alive!
And I have seen the men who are standing in that room
With the rope around their necks,
Yeah they’re calling for their heads
I don’t wanna be one of the men inside that room
With the rope around my neck
I am only a man wondering how to pass this test
A carbon copy in retreat from the rest
Constantly filling their plates with ambitions and dreams
Devoid of drive
Calling my name now I answered the door
Only to find myself right where I was before
But the gravity has now began to sink in
The tightrope dance has unjustly began
And I have seen the men who are standing in that room
With the rope around their necks,
And they’re calling for their heads
I don’t wanna be one of the men inside that room
With the rope around my neck
I hang my hat beside the door and take a seat
Have I seen this scene before?
It seems as if the weight of the tide is pulling me
And I can’t seem to find the shore
They say, “Lay your head down, get some rest now.
It’s always darkest before the dawn
The battles are restless but our spirit remains strong
Find your hope now, as patience will pay off
Time and space and all those things held dearly
Will drive us through the fall”
Yet it eludes me
The solution I seek
Failing to find that balance in our constant struggle to find peace
The risks that we’ve endured in search for strength we need
We may be worn around the edges with patience paper thin
But don’t you fret my darling, the future holds great things
Lay your head down, rest now
We’ll stay here for a while, lay here for a while
Lay your head down, find peace with me

Circadia

Try to keep them shut
The endless cycle furthers on
Alpha waves crash among a whiplash of a desperate urge to stay awake
Somewhat pretentious, worthy of mention
The sounds and visions that dance away
A solid confinement of subconscious alignment
When you don’t have the words to say
We sail along, we sing these songs, we drift away
We move through time, our unsettled minds, to a far place
In the confines of our hearts a story starts to play
Sometimes leaving us but some forever stay
This is the building that’s your school and still your home
This is the familiar face of one you’ve never known
This is an extension of your being that is one with the unknown
This is the exclusive cinema that only biology holds
We sail along, we sing these songs, we drift away
We move through time, our unsettled minds, to a far place

The Greater March
07:48
|
|||
Today we march in unison against the lesser will of many men
Whose strength in discipline is overrun by thrill
(Conversion at its finest,
turning a blind eye away from the greater cost)
Their power is unyielding and for that I bear the cross
(Of human life and sacrifice for which there is no greater march)
My men and I will see it through no matter what the cost
The time and the place is now
We are not all like them lest we be
Content to abide by unjust decree
The fallacy that’s calling their names will ring within their heads
And we surely will not hesitate to remind them of their debts
She lay awake in wonder of what would come to be
Laying in the darkness withering the cold
Another lost soul, victim of their creation
And she would wonder what would become of her
A cigar and a box of wine await
A victory in which we’ll celebrate

The Gates
06:22
|
|||
I woke the other day to that feeling of a fall
The one that leaves you glad to be alive
Complicating symptoms of a night of harsh withdrawals
And the reasoning that seeks to keep at bay
I can recall the faintest memories and those vivid dreams
And here we’re standing at the gates and is it as it seems?
Standing here in space and time I can’t decline
To satisfy my own design
The stories turn as pages burn into the night
We’ll glorify us once again
And we’ll write them away
Far from retribution
Suffering delusion
Shatter the frame of the things you know
The truth will come to be
Splitting heirs of conflict
No consideration
Drawing the lines between body and soul
Skimming through the pages yet to meet their maker
Exposing colors of a man
(The pages burn into the night)
Will glorify us once again
To radiate their minds with life once more
Whoever holds the cards are excused from digging their own graves
The price some men must pay and the consequence of the cyclic game
Dead are the ones who proclaim to stand at the gates
Mercy oh mercy thy will be undone
Dead are the ones who proclaim to stand at the gates
Mercy oh mercy no their fate they can’t outrun
The pages turn, the fear remains
The pages burn into the night
Soliciting what hope remains
Our dignity, we must sustain
Reality now fading into a dream,
I’m thinking now of a much better scene
You held the power, I longed for the key,
you saw a weakness you must rid of me
Standing now here at the end of my time
I’m surely on the wrong end of this line
But for what it’s worth
It’s been a hell of a ride
